Citarella’s Commissary Kitchen in Hunts Point, Bronx is seeking Kitchen Porters to join our team! This role is responsible for properly cleaning and sanitizing all dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, and supporting properly cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas and other warehouse areas as needed.
Full Time Shifts of: 5AM - 2PM, 7AM- 4PM, and 10PM - 7AM
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots/pans, and other equipment with proper tools
- Restock all dishes, utensils, pots and pans; place in proper storage areas
- Keep dishes and other areas of kitchen clean and organized
- Clean and sanitize floors, drainers, freezer and cooler
- Maintain kitchen work areas including all equipment in clean and orderly condition.
- Sort and remove trash, place in designated pickup areas.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and policies
- Other reasonably assigned duties as per business need
- Ability to work both independently as well as with a team, professional demean
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual a plus (English and Spanish)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing and walking for extended periods of time throughout the day, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying, push/pull weight
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast paced environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of basic sanitary guidelines
