We are currently hiring for a Full Time Gate Guard/Covid Screener split between 2nd and 3rd shift.

The Estates at Carpenters is a not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in North Lakeland, FL for over 30 years! Job Objective/ Summary

The responsibility of a Guard is to screen employees, residents and any individual coming on premises per CDC guidelines. The Front Gate Guard is also responsible for providing service to the residents, collecting packages, groceries and delivering items when possible.

Essential Functions

 Perform daily screening of anyone entering the property. Ensure to deny access to anyone who is not on the approved exceptions list. Complete screening questionnaire on each individual.

Take and record temperatures of anyone permitted to enter the property, and ensure they are wearing a mask.

 Log deliveries daily in the log book.

 Respond to all radio calls from front desk, security guards and or any other individuals communicating to the front gate. Report any issues via radio immediately.

 Provide necessary services of assistance to all residents and employees when they are in need.

 Deliver packages or mail to residential apartments as needed.

 Adhere to The Estates at Carpenters’ policies and procedures, including those covering privacy and security in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and codes of conduct. Maintain confidentiality and respects resident’s privacy at all times in accordance with HIPAA regulations.


§ Must successfully pass the mandated criminal background checks.

§ Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

§ Must be able to pass the pre-employment reference checks.

§ Must be able to provide official grade transcripts of the education level provided on the employment application.

§ Must be able to provide a copy of his/her own social security card for W-4 documentation.

§ Must be able to provide applicable documentation(s) for I-9 in order to establish identity and authorization to work in the U.S.

§ Must have valid driver’s license, personal automobile liability insurance, and acceptable driving record (if required to drive).
